Activision Confirms ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’

Treyarch aims to take gamers on a third romp through the ‘Black Ops’ universe.

First teased with the video below, then with small tidbits of information, it can confidently be said that Call of Duty 2015 will be Black Ops III.

The following description on the latest Black Ops installment were found in the source code of the official Call of Duty website.

‘Call of Duty┬«: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty┬« history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.’

On top of the reveal, it seems promotional box art has been released. From the shadowy face, to the dual pistols, the photo has a lot of parallels to 2011’s Black Ops art.

While the game has no release date as of yet, it would be the most logical to expect it in November of this year as is tradition for the series. On April 26th, Activision plans to have world reveal event, so stay tuned.
