Stunning New Ratchet & Clank Trailer

Now lined up with the movie premiere in 2016, the classic PlayStation revamp looks more gorgeous than ever

After a tease last night from Insomniac community lead James Stevenson, the new trailer for the Ratchet & Clank reimagining is incredible. Check it out!

Everything about this trailer made me feel incredibly stoked to dive back into the R&C universe. With brighter, more vibrant colors than most games out there and an always cheeky sense of humor, this game is high up on my 2016 most-wanted list.

To me, Something about this trailer feels old school. Not in the been-there-done-that way, but more like the nostalgic childish excitement I feel when watching it. In the “next-gen” era, it seems all too often that game hype is generated by stunning CGI cutscenes that ultimately look far superior to the final release. Unlike others, though, this trailer boasted in-game footage for the vast majority of the trailer and I am still in shock with how detailed the models are. In fact, at certain points, this trailer feels more like a Pixar reimagining of the series and less like a video game.  With Insomniac’s stellar Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive still fresh on the mind, I have a fever for more of their signature style. If you have the same Ratchet & Clank fever that I do, check out this brand new direct-feed footage for more stunning action!

With less than a week to E3, it’s entirely likely we’ll see even more of the Ratchet & Clank reimagining at Sony’s conference. Who knows, we might even get an official release date!

Are you excited to dive back into this classic gaming franchise? Or were you hoping Insomniac would create a new universe more akin to Sunset Overdrive? Feel free to let me know on Twitter!
