Xbox gamers with a boat-load of friends can finally rejoice because the party just got a whole lot bigger!
In a series of tweets from Xbox Program Manager Mike Ybarra and Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, it seems Xbox One gamers will be able to party up with eleven of their friends.
Great news: EVERYONE on Xbox One is getting 12-person Party Chat today. (Xbox One & Xbox App on Windows 10.) No preview required 🙂

Before this evening, Xbox gamers have historically been held to a maximum of eight friends per chat. With Halo 5: Guardians just around the corner with it’s brand new 12v12 Warzone game mode, there has never been a better time for the Xbox team to knock up the party size.
As of right now, it seems that last-gen users won’t be getting twelve person update and will still be held to eight, but keep an eye on this post because I’ll update you if they address the 360 party size.
Do you already know who you’re inviting to your twelve person party, or are you going to have to go out and make a few more friends? Feel free to let me know in the comments below or on Twitter!
