‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Launch Playlists Revealed

Here’s what you can expect when you first log into Halo 5 on October 27th.

UPDATE: Multiplayer Designer Quinn DelHoyo has stated that Guardians will only have one SWAT game mode contrary to the IGN article. Original article below:

Earlier this morning, IGN detailed the maps and modes that Guardians will launch. Unfortunately, their article is a bit of a confusing mess, so here’s everything streamlined:

    1. Warzone: “24 players on massive maps with REQs and AI adversaries. Halo multiplayer has never been bigger.”
Maps: Escape from the ARC, Raid on Apex 7, March on Stormbreak
    1. Warzone Assault: “Destroy the Power Core or defend it in this asymmetrical Warzone mode variant.”
      Maps: Dispatch, Array, Summit
    1. Team Arena: “Play on the very best modes and maps Halo 5 has to offer.”
Maps: Gambol Breakout, Trident Slayer, Coliseum Slayer, Eden Slayer, Plaza Slayer, Empire Slayer, The Rig CTF, Coliseum CTF, Truth CTF, Fathom Strongholds, The Rig Strongholds, Eden Strongholds and Empire
    1. Slayer: “Work with a team, vanquish your opponents.”
Maps: Coliseum, Regret, Plaza, The Rig, and Fathom
    1. Breakout: “Halo 5’s premiere high lethality single-life elimination mode.”
Maps: Gambol, Trident, Trench, Crossfire and Altitude
    1. Free-for-All: “It’s you against everyone else. Slay your way to victory.”
Maps: Eden, Regret, The Rig, Plaza, Orion and Pegasus
    1. SWAT: “No shields, no motion tracker. Aim for the head!”
Maps: Eden, Regret, The Rig, Plaza, Orion and Pegasus
    1. SWAT Magnums: “No shields, no motion tracker. Aim for the head!”
Maps: Eden, Regret, The Rig, Plaza, Orion and Pegasus
  1. Weekend Social: “A weekly playlist that features a mode voted on by the community via Halo Waypoint/Channel. – Bonus XP/REQ points – Community engagement – Most popular modes have the potential for becoming their own playlist”

What do you think of the launch playlists? Anything concerning? I’m personally a little disappointed that SWAT will have two game modes at launch. Share your thoughts with me in the comments below or on Twitter!
