Uncharted 4 to host open beta this weekend

Naughty Dog is preparing a second beta for Uncharted 4, and this time it’s open to everyone.

First noticed earlier today on Reddit, it seems that PS+ subscribers on PS4 are in for one more taste of Uncharted 4 multiplayer ahead of its April 26 release date.

The PlayStation Store has since removed the listing, but the official description for the open beta read as follows:

Get a taste of the Uncharted 4 multiplayer action ahead of Nathan Drake’s upcoming adventure, exclusive to PlayStation 4.

During the Open Weekend, which runs from 17:00GMT 4 March and finishes on 6 March, you’re invited to play team deathmatch on three maps based on stunning locations from the single player campaign.

Unfortunately the beta isn’t quite up for download just yet, but expect the listing to reappear on the PlayStation store in the next day or so. Prior to being removed from the store, the beta was listed as 9.6GB, so you’d be wise to download as soon as its available to ensure you can get the most out of the beta.

As noted above, the open-beta will feature 3 multiplayer maps. It remains unclear, however, if the two maps from the closed-beta will be making a return or if we’ll be playing on entirely new levels this time around.

Keep your eye on Naughty Dog’s Twitter for more news on the open-beta once the team formally announces it.

Do you plan on participating in the open-beta? Do you think The Last of Us’ multiplayer structure will mesh with Uncharted’s gameplay style, or should they stick to older Uncharted multiplayer formulas? Share your thoughts in the comments or on Twitter!
