Bethesda’s hellish shooter is going into closed beta at the end of the month.
Fast and brutal multiplayer with is back the upcoming DOOM reboot.While the game isn’t set to launch until May 13, Bethesda is set to host an closed beta from March 31 to April 3 to hone in game balance and ensure servers are up-to-snuff for launch.
Coinciding with the beta announcement, Bethesda also released a new multiplayer trailer to show just what’s in store for fans.
Getting into the beta might be a little tough these days. In order to be eligible, you’ll need to of purchased a specially labeled copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order or have purchased New Order prior to May 26, 2014. If you’re unsure if you are eligible, check out this nifty FAQ from Bethesda.
As for what’s in the beta, gamers can expect two playable game modes (Team Deathmatch and Warpath) on two different maps (Heatwave and Inferno). Bethesda also says the beta will feature new weapons, armor, hack modules and player taunts. Because of the beta’s short duration, don’t expect much access to other multiplayer features like the sleek custom map maker.
