Xbox’s “Games with Gold” for March 2017

Layers of Fear and Borderlands 2 kick off March’s offerings for Xbox Live Gold Subscribers.

From stalking monsters in asymmetrical multiplayer to killing psychos on Pandora, Xbox’s March Games with Gold is all about putting players into tense, violent experiences.

With Layers of Fear and Borderlands 2 being the heavy hitters next month, Evolve: Ultimate Edition isn’t a terrible deal either. Despite being plagued with microtransactions at launch and then developer Turtle Rock having to bail on the game’s free-to-play roll out on console last year, the game might actually be worth subscribers time. Plus, with a resurging player base, gamers who bought the game way back when it launched in 2015 will finally have people to play with.

Those on Xbox One who subscribe to EA Access have already had access to Heavy Weapon for  a few months, but it’s nonetheless exciting to have yet another PopCap/EA game come to Gold subscribers free-of-charge.

Keep in mind that all Xbox 360 Games With Gold offerings will also playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. Also, there’s still a week left in February, so be sure to pick up this month’s free games before they’re gone!

What do you think of March’s games? What games do you plan on picking up? Anything you plan on avoiding? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or on Twitter!
