LawBreakers officially announced for PS4 following social media tease

Cliff Bleszinski’s Boss Key Productions seems to be targeting PS4 release based on social media tease.

Update: LawBreakers took to Twitter to officially announce the game is coming to PlayStation later this year. The game will debut with PS4 Pro support and will retail for $30 USD. All post-release DLC will be free of charge. LawBreakers’ PS4 gameplay will debut at E3, but for now, developer Boss Key has a new cinematic trailer:

Original: It sure looks like LawBreakers, an upcoming multiplayer sci-fi shooter, is coming to PS4 according to a new gif posted on the game’s official Twitter page yesterday afternoon. Before the tease, the game had only been announced for PC, but Boss Key has been adamant that PC platform exclusivity isn’t a done deal.

The teaser is only a few seconds long, but with a few well-timed pauses, you can catch the four face buttons of the DualShock controller. After reviewing the gif several times, it doesn’t look like Xbox’s ABXY face buttons are included. This announcement appears to be PS4-centric.

LawBreakers has been through numerous alpha and beta periods, so if Boss Key is about to announce a console port, it could mean the game is near completion. Back in September 2015, Bleszinski said the game could come to console eventually if they had support. In an interview with GameSpot, he went as far to say Boss Key wouldn’t personally port LawBreakers.

“We wouldn’t be able to do the port ourselves,” said Bleszinski. “We’d need a really great partner that could knock it out of the park, keep it 60Hz, nail the controls, and make it fantastic.”

Of course, the interview was nearly two years ago, so it’s possible that as Boss Key grew in size, the team could have dedicated some time to a console port.
