Days after going indie, Io Interactive wants more people to jump into its world of assassination.
After finalizing its split from publisher Square Enix last week, Io Interactive now has complete control over the Hitman intellectual property. One of the first changes to the game is how players can buy the Hitman reboot. Starting today, players on all platforms can now try the game before spending a dime.
The free trial includes unlimited access to the game’s first area for players to test the game’s mechanics and experiment in Io’s murder sandbox. All progress made in the trial will carry over to the full game. In total, the free trial includes one area called “The Playground,” two story missions, two escalation contracts, over 40 in-game challenges and 17 achievements.
The free trial is part of Io Interactive’s new initiative to get people into the game who might have been turned off by the episodic nature of the Hitman reboot. Hitman: The Complete First Season will be 60 percent off on all platforms for the next week.
Hitman’s free trial is now available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
