Activision finally confirms Modern Warfare Remastered standalone

More than six months after its initial release, it’s finally possible to play Modern Warfare remastered without owning Infinite Warfare.

After literal months of leaks, Activision finally confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is being released on June 27, 2017 for $39.99. Previously, the only way to get the game was to buy the $79.99 or $99.99 version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which launched in November of 2016.

Modern Warfare Remastered will be available for purchase digitally and physically when it launches next week. Much like all the DLC that comes to the Call of Duty franchise, the standalone remaster will come exclusively to PS4 at initially. The trailer above does use the word “first,” so it’s probably safe to assume Xbox One and PC will have similar purchase options in the future.

To get the full Modern Warfare experience many remember from the game’s original release a decade ago, players will need to drop an additional $14.99 on top of the $39.99 to get the Variety Map Pack for multiplayer. When the Variety Map Pack came to consoles a decade ago, Activision charged players $9.99.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is coming to PS4 on June 27, 2017. Those waiting on other platforms can keep their eyes on Call of Duty’s social media channels.
