PlayStation Plus’ free games – August 2017

PlayStation Plus subscribers are in for another seven games this August.

As announced by the official PlayStation blog, six new and one recurring game are on offer for PlayStation Plus subscribers starting on August 1. The biggest game is developer Avalanche’s stellar Just Cause 3. In this narrative light and explosion heavy game, you’re on a sandbox island chock full of all the guns, grenades and vehicles you could ever need – just watch out for all the dropped frames! Along with a small Assassin’s Creed stand alone title, there’s also a myriad of indies that might be worth checking out.

August’s Playstation Plus titles (available August 1, 2017)

  • Just Cause 3
  • Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry
  • Downwell (Cross-buy Vita)

  • Super Motherload
  • Snakeball

PS Vita

  • Level 22
  • Downwell (Cross-buy PS4)

BONUS (available July 4 – October 24, 2017)

  • That’s You

For those out of the loop, That’s You is a six person game similar to Jackbox games but with a greater on what you do and don’t know about your friends. Unlike Jackbox, players will have to download the PlayLink app to play with their friends.

The PlayStation blog was quick to point out that PS+ Summer Movie Rentals also started earlier week. From now until the first week of September, one new movie release will be discounted to $.99. The Lego Batman movie is currently discounted and Logan will be up for a $.99 rental starting August 1.
