Following the initial batch of Xbox 360 enhancements last year, One X owners can now enjoy games like The Witcher 2 and Crackdown in 4K.
Today, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson announced Fable Anniversary, The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, Crackdown and Forza Horizon would now feature visual upgrades when played on Xbox One X. This is also Crackdown’s backward compatible debut, so Xbox One and Xbox One S owners can now play the game natively today; just without the shiny visual facelift.

The Xbox One X enhancements allow for the games to run at nine times the original resolution. The enhancements take the original assets from the Xbox 360 version and bring them to a crisper visual state. Major Nelson also announced that Xbox One X users will now be able to toggle visual enhancements on Xbox 360 games by navigating to the Xbox 360 settings (press the View and Menu buttons at the same time) and select “Xbox One X” under the Settings tab. Graphics mode will feature all the X enhancements and Performance will use the original resolution and image quality of the game and put extra power behind maintaining the game’s framerate and load time.
With the four additions today, there are now 11 Xbox 360 games that are Xbox One X enhanced:
- Assassin’s Creed
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 3
- Forza Horizon
- Gears of War 3
- Halo 3
- Mirror’s Edge
- Skate 3
- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Starting today, Xbox One X owners can enjoy all four of the new enhancement,, and Xbox One and Xbox One S users can also enjoy Crackdown as it comes to the backward compatibility program.
